One identify to look is windows updates.
Get to Settings > Windows Update > Update history. Confirm if whatsoever updates were installed on that date.
On the WIndows update folio click on Advanced Options then Choose how updates are delivered.
On the "Chose how updates are delivered" page if the kickoff option is turned on, the MS is using your computer as a "mule" to deliver updates to other people. That would account for network utilize.
Also check in the Recycle bin, if someone was using your system and they were sloppy, in that location could be deleted files at that place ("sloppy" because at that place is an pick to delete files without putting them in the recycle bin).

Thank You lot for the quick reply.
If install the TCPIPView utility, volition I be able to view what was downloaded on 11/xvi/2017 during a specific time period? Something downloaded that used fifteen GB, however, I cannot detect information technology. I do know that it occurred on 11/16/2017 between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM.
Is the TCPIPView utility condom to download?

I went to the Windows Update History, at that place were no updates for 11/16/2017.
I do non see the "Advanced Options" on the Windows Update History page. Is at that place another method to become to the Advanced Options?
Is there a method to view what was downloaded on 11/xvi/2017 during a specific fourth dimension period? Something downloaded that used 15 GB, all the same, I cannot observe information technology. I practice know that information technology occurred on eleven/16/2017 between 5:30 PM and half-dozen:thirty PM.

Hi, Paul, TCPIPView is safe, I would not put you wrong . . .
Actually TCPIPView is more than for monitoring your network activity should this sort of thing happen once more . . .
As for what was downloaded on 11/16/2017 betwixt five:30 PM and 6:30 PM
There are 2 possible means to find that out:
1.
Open Windows File Explorer and double click on your C Drive in 'This PC'
Click in the Search Box
The Search Ribbon should go active
Click Date Modified drop downwardly and choose Today
Then click the blue text in the search box, a calendar will appear
Select the 16th and give it fourth dimension to search - it tin be a while
In the resulting search, you should exist able to meet what downloaded . . .
2.
Click your Get-go Button, type Event Viewer and striking Enter
This will open up the Event Viewer app
On the left, click the arrow beside Windows logs to expand it
For each log, click information technology and curlicue downwards through the events to find that date and time
This might give you some clue equally to what happened at that time and what was downloaded . . .

I will endeavour both methods and go back to you with my results. I will also effort the TCPIPView utility. Is the utility TCPView or TCPIPView? Sorry for all the questions, I encounter TCPView has great reviews.
I cannot express my business organisation, as I had my identity stolen 4 times and caused enormous problems.

Hi Paul, lamentable a typo on my part, it is called TCPView.
I use it a lot, it is rubber to use, I would non endanger you in any mode.
I am only here to help and would non advise on downloading annihilation I take not already checked out myself . . .

Sorry, misdirected you. the Advanced Options is on the "Update Status" page
Sad, I do not know of any manner of identifying what was up or downloaded during a specific fourth dimension. There are many utilities that tin monitor y'all internet use. The trouble is that most of them focus on total volume and speed. Very few provide any ID for the file or plan that is doing the up/down loading.
http://www.cucusoft.com/netguard.aspx#CheckHist... is one exception I constitute in a QUICK search. It at to the lowest degree identifies the program doing the traffic.
You will have to do your own search to discover a better suited application to place Time to come traffic.

Hi Dave,
I used the upshot viewer to view my PC activeness for eleven/16/2017 between five:00 PM and vi:30 PM. I see several alarm letters and fault messages. It appears something was trying to download and install some apps or security files, I'm not certain.
Could I e-mail you a couple of screen shots of the event viewer and go your feedback? I really do not understand what was occurring on 11/16/2017, simply information technology did last for almost 2 hours and looks a bit suspicious to me. I do not meet a way to attach screen shots on this customs spider web site, perhaps I tin reply back with the text?

Hi Paul, sorry i had to get some sleep . . .
Tin you practice one thing for me:
Click your Outset Push button, blazon winver and hit Enter
In the resulting dialog, have a notation of what version No. of Windows 10 you are running (1709, 1703, 1607 . . . etc.)
Due to the amount of data that has been downloaded, I am gauge information technology was the Fall Creators Update that was downloading. If yous are not running 1709, and then that is the most likely scenario . . .
Of you want to post screenshots you can practise that here or upload them to the cloud (DropBox,OneDrive . . .etc.) and post a link hither and I volition have a look for you lot . . .
